Murphy Lake is a hidden gem that not many British Columbian’s know about. This property is located approximately a one-hour drive from 100 Mile House. Unlike some of BC’s interior lakes, Murphy Lake is actually an excellent swimming lake with clean clear waters. The fishing and boating are also excellent and with only a few other privately held properties on the lake, you almost always have the lake to yourself. The calm waters of the lake are also perfect to land your floatplane and tie up at the dock. The access to the property covers 30+ kilometres of gravel road with the last section often requiring a 4x4 vehicle in the spring depending on the condition of the road, and winter access would be by snowmobile only. Contact the listing agent for detailed directions.
This is your opportunity to have your own private little piece of paradise. Set on 3.76 acres with approximately 320 feet of water frontage, this place has it all. Included are three separate cabins and several outbuildings consisting of a beautiful screened-in gazebo down by the lake, a boat shelter including private boat launch, a 16' x 20' workshop, electrical room/storage, woodshed, and outhouses. Properties in this area are all “off the grid” with power being provided by solar systems with inverter and generator backup. Both cabins are also hooked up to their own independent water system which draw water from Murphy Lake.
The main cabin is a log-constructed one bedroom, three-piece bath, spacious kitchen and living/dining area set at the front of the cottage to take in the stunning view of the lake. The main cabin also has a spacious deck with steps that lead down to the lakefront. The cabin has everything you need with fridge, stove and oven, woodstove and back up propane heating. The cabins are all neat and tidy and it's evident that they have been well cared for over the years. Located near the main cabin is a self-contained smaller sleeping cabin with interior bathroom, propane heating, sink and portable stove. Plenty of room for family, friends, grandchildren or perhaps purchasing the property jointly with another family.
The second larger cabin on the property is located north of the main cabin right near the lake. In fact, when you're standing inside this cabin looking out over the lake feel as though you're right on top of the lake. The cabin has great views over the lake, an efficient woodstove, one bedroom, interior bathroom and is finished quite nicely with a cozy feel. A nice feature is the grove of trees providing privacy between the two main cabins, giving it the feel that they could almost be two separate properties.
Wildlife in the area includes moose, deer, bears, coyotes and even the odd elk. For the outdoorsmen who enjoy fishing, hunting or just exploring the backcountry this property is second to none. A large network of logging roads and ATV and snowmobiles trails are on the adjacent Crown land and would take a lifetime to explore.
This is a spectacular affordable family retreat to get away from it all. Call today for more information or to book a time to go by for a look.

100 Mile House began as a roadhouse during the Cariboo Gold Rush in the 1860s. It was originally known as Bridge Creek House, a stopping point located precisely 100 miles up the Cariboo Wagon Road from Lillooet—hence the name “100 Mile House.” The roadhouse served miners, ranchers, and travelers heading north toward Barkerville and other goldfields.
After the gold rush, the area shifted toward ranching and forestry, becoming a hub for logging operations by the early 20th century. The town remained relatively small until the post-World War II period, when it experienced modest growth with the expansion of forestry operations and improved transportation infrastructure.
The current District Municipality of 100 Mile House was incorporated in 1965, and it continues to serve as the commercial and service center for the South Cariboo region.
The area surrounding 100 Mile House lies within the traditional territory of the Secwépemc (Shuswap) Nation, specifically the Northern Secwépemc te Qelmucw.
