Description :

Crazy Bear Lodge caters to those who want unspoiled wilderness along with some of the finest wild rainbow trout fishing British Columbia has to offer. Situated in a pristine valley beneath snow capped peaks of the Coast Mountains this unique area is known as the Charlotte Alplands. The fantastic location is enhanced by the knowledge that the Alplands are protected from development of roads, mining or forestry and the wilderness will be preserved. The Alplands have the highest concentration of alpine lakes in BC with a total of 75 lakes.

The established business was developed by an individual who discovered the location and started Crazy Bear in 1981. Guests have six lakes to fish and the lodge is so remote that there is no need to go anywhere else. However float plane trips and flight seeing are available to such wondrous nearby places as the Monarch Glacier and spectacular Hunlen Falls on Turner Lake. Guests take boats to the end of each lake then hike to the next lake where boats and belly boats await with the last and longest being about a 3 mile hike where there is a teepee for guests to overnight.

At 4,200 feet, the snow runoff keeps the lakes cool, so the fishing is always great.

Buildings include the dining lodge, owners cabin, cooks cabin and four log cottages that each hold one to six guests. The buildings that make up the lodge are the only structures on the lake. A list of the cabins and furnishings is shown below. Note: some of the items of furniture may no longer be there.
