Description:

The ultimate recreational property on a private lake! This 18+ acre property is located on a prime fishing lake in the Bridge River Valley – truly a unique property with no other freehold properties on the lake. The property enjoys complete solitude, great fishing, canoeing, wildlife watching and endless recreation; the perfect location for a couple backcountry cabins. The majority of the 18 acres is meadow / wetlands (prime moose country) while approx 2 to 2.5 acres is completely useable and ideal for building a cottage / cabin (zoning allows two residences). Or leave the property untouched and set up a private camp. The zoning also allows you to earn a bit of income by operating a small seasonal campground / outdoor recreation set up.

From the most desirable building site you will have prime views of the lake and soaring Alpine peaks in the background. The property is 100% surrounded by crown land – with endless forestry roads and recreational trails to explore.

In winter the lake is great for ice fishing and probably the best setting for an outdoor rink I have even seen. The area is also famous for some of the very best snowmobiling in BC.

Considering how private this property is you are only 6 Km off the public roads and mins to the town of Bralorne and Gold Bridge.

Access:

The property can be accessed by both Hwy 40 coming from Lillooet or via the Hurley River Forest Service Road, approximately a 2 hour drive from Whistler BC. The Hurley road is open from approx May Long weekend to early November. During the rest of the year the access is via Highway 40, coming in from Lillooet and approx 5 hours to Vancouver. In summer the drive from the North Shore can be made in under 4 hours, in winter the route around and in through Lillooet takes an additional hour.

Once you arrive in the Gold Bridge area the property a short drive up the mtn. towards Bralorne. Before you reach Bralorne you will see the Kingdom Lakes FSR Rd on the left. The property is approx 6Km up this road which is not maintained year round.

Area Data:

The property is located in the Bridge River Valley, known for its stunning Alpine setting and crystal clear lakes.

Within the Bridge River Valley there are many small very scenic communities, including Bralorne & Gold Bridge (5-10 minutes from the property), Gun Creek (15-20 Mins), Gun Lake (15 mins), Tyax Lake, and Marshall Lake (20-25 mins).

Recreation:

The Bridge River Valley is emerging as a centre for outdoor recreation. With its close proximity to Whistler, the entire Sea to Sky corridor and the fact that it is only 175 km due north of Vancouver (as the crow flies) this region is ripe for further recreational development, but at the same time the unpaved road access from Pemberton Meadows to Bralorne (approx 70 km) helps it maintain its off the beaten track character and appeal.

Because of the past mining activity, the area is laced with trails ideal for backpackers, day hikers, off road vehicles and horseback riders. Many old pack trails lead up to the top of the surrounding mountains offering the more adventurous mountaineers plenty of terrain to explore.

Fishermen enjoy three rivers, several large creeks and more than a dozen clear clean lakes – all within a short drive or even a hike form the property. Winter months are just as busy and popular with ice fishing.

Additional winter activities include snowmobiling – the area is known as a sledding mecca – see Bralorne trail map for info on the expansive trail system. Backcountry skiers / boarders and cross country enthusiasts are also frequenting the area more and more. In a nut shell the area is ripe for someone looking for a year round recreational destination.

History:

The Bridge River Valley's historical claim to fame would be the old gold mines in the valley and each of the communities has its own special part in the history of the valley. Today, prospectors have been replaced by visitors in search of the area's crystal clear lakes for recreation, spectacular views for photography, fresh mountain air, and miles of trails for walking, hiking and cross-country skiing & snow mobiling.
